Chinese Cultural Centre Imperial Ball 2011

Sharing the Rhythm of Joy at Fairmont Royal York on May 28

Toronto, April 20, 2011 The Imperial Ball 2011 of Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto (CCC), will take place on Saturday May 28 at the Fairmont Royal York. It will draw more than six hundred patrons comprising senior business executives, professionals, community leaders and representatives from all levels of government.

Dr. Ming-Tat Cheung, Chairman of CCC, remarked "This is our 17th annual fundraising gala for the Chinese Cultural Centre with a mandate to promote Chinese culture in the context of Canada's multicultural society. We are committed to striving for unity, cultural diversity and racial harmony in the community. It is also important for us to share the legacy of our mission with generations to come. Since the opening of Phase II of CCC almost five years ago, numerous topnotch arts and cultural groups have performed in our Theatre and many community events have taken place in the Multi-Purpose Hall. CCC has become a prominent cultural hub for both the Chinese and diverse ethnicities in the GTA. Yet we have to raise funds to keep upgrading our theatrical equipments and other facilities to better serve the growing needs of the multicultural communities across the GTA."

Rhythm of Joy is the theme of this year with "East Meets West" entertainment. Jiayan Sun, champion of the inaugural CCC International Piano Competition held last year will be back to perform at the gala. There will also be grand Chinese dance performances and jazz band ensemble by Agincourt Collegiate Institute.

Rolex Boutique at Royal de Versailles has once again agreed to be the Presenting Sponsor of Imperial Ball 2011 and will donate a Rolex men's watch, 18K white gold Oyster Perpetual Day-Date valued over $30,000 for live auction during the gala. Other items for bidding are Audi all wheel drive sedan provided by Audi Uptown, some luxurious jewellery items donated by Royal de Versailles and two round-trip Executive Class air tickets to any destination in Asia by Air Canada.
